Ronnie C. McClure, PhD has worked in the corporate, partnership, and non-profit sectors of tax law for more than thirty years. He is a leading family consultant currently in private practice specializing in family, estate, and charitable gift financial and tax planning.
SeekingNorth, LLC, which he founded in 2008, combines his rich technical background with his skills as a mediator and family counselor to provide relationship-based trans-generational wealth transfer consultation to high-net-worth families.
Ronnie has taught federal taxation at the graduate school level and conducted hundreds of seminars on a wide range of tax and estate-planning topics important to businesses, families, private foundations, and public charities. Ronnie’s individual, corporate, and charitable clients know that his counsel is based on sound principles and background.
Ronnie has authored or edited more than a dozen articles or chapters addressing various estate and family planning subjects. He has written and edited more than two dozen professional education courses for accountants and attorneys on a variety of federal income and wealth transfer tax topics, and he has spoken throughout the nation on these issues.
Ronnie is very active in his community both professionally:
- Memberships: American Counseling Association, the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, and Denton County Collaborative Professionals, where he serves as vice president.
- Board leadership: He has served on the governing boards of numerous charitable organizations and is currently on the Advisory Council of Communities Foundation of Texas and the Governing Board of the Dallas Estate Planning Council. Ronnie also is an active member of his church, where he serves as an ordained deacon.
- Education: Ronnie has studied at Lamar University, the University of Texas, the University of North Texas, and Texas Woman’s University. He holds degrees in economics, professional accounting, family counseling, a PhD in taxation, and a certificate in conflict resolution. Ronnie is a certified public accountant, a nationally certified counselor, a mediator, and is trained in collaborative law.
Ronnie lives in Lewisville, Texas and is the proud father of Ryan Christopher and Dustin Tyler, and the grandfather of Reilly Cade and Aden Michael McClure. When he is not spending his time with family and friends, Ronnie enjoys traveling, photography, reading and learning.
